Samsung officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphone at the Samsung Unpacked event. This new addition to the foldable is the successor to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Packing impressive specs like Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and an AMOLED Display, the phone sets to compete in the premium segment. Commencing off with the design, the phone boasts a foldable (flip) design with a shorter hinge than its predecessor. The premium design language includes a Gorilla Glass Victus+ back panel and aluminum frame for the looks. It has straightened edges, contrasting hazed back glass, and glossy metal frames. It comes with IPX8 water resistance.
The smartphone is flaunting a 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Full HD+ resolution and 426 PPI density. It is a 120Hz refresh rate screen that can adapt from 1Hz-120Hz. Also, the screen is certified for HDR10+ contents and has a peak brightness of 1200nits. Likewise, a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover screen on the external display offers a 260×512 pixel resolution and gets a Gorilla Glass Victus+. This display helps you check images, take photos, play music and so much more when the device is flipped.
This new foldable gets the horsepower from the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The 4nm silicon supports 5G and has the configurations of 1×3.19 GHz Cortex-X2 & 3×2.75 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510 cores. On the graphic front, there is Adreno 730 GPU. It is paired with 8GB of RAM while the available storage options are UFS 3.1 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Talking about the software side, the phone boots on OneUI4.1 built on top of Android 12. Samsung has promised 4 years of major Android updates and 5 years of security updates for this phone.
The phone sports a dual camera setup on its back. The primary lens is a 12MP shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, dual PDAF, and OIS for stabilization. And the second camera is a 12MP Ultrawide with an f/2.2 aperture. It has a 123 degrees FOV for capturing wider scenes. Although the setup is the same as its predecessor, the company has claimed improvements on both cameras. For videos, the main camera can shoot up to 4K at 60fps resolution.
There are enhanced AI lighting and stabilization capabilities on Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. Also, Samsung’s Super Night Solution technology is present for aiding in capturing portrait shots in low light conditions. For selfies, there is a 10MP snapper with an f/2.4 aperture. It can shoot up to 4k at 30fps videos.

The smartphone gets its juice from a bigger 3700mAh battery this time. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 had a 3300mAh battery. Also, the charging speed has increased and now the phone gets 25W fast charging support. It can charge the device from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes as advertised. Likewise, it also supports 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Furthermore, the phone boasts a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics. For connectivity, it includes WiFI 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and 5G. It’s a Dual SIM phone but comes with the support for one nano SIM and one eSIM. And there is Samsung’s hardware-level Knox security too.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 price in Nepal is expected at Rs.1,24,999 for the 8/128GB variant. The official price starts at USD 999.99 for the same variant. As per the previous track, the device will launch in the Nepalese market too.

This new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 phone offers a bit of improvement over its predecessor. The chipset is more powerful and there is some significant camera improvement too. But, the price is going to be higher.
