Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has also gone official from the Samsung Unpacked Event. This premium foldable device is coming with a powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and other multiple improvements. Starting with the design, the smartphone flaunts a similar foldable screen to its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. However, the display has become 3.1mm shorter and even slimmer than the previous model. Also, it is wider now and comes with an aspect ratio of 23:9 for the outer display. It still retains the support for a stylus. The company has used a new slimmer rotational hinge mechanism on the smartphone.
The phone boasts a 6.2-inch exterior display and a 7.6-inch interior display. The interior one is a Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz adaptive fast refresh rate & QXGA+ (2176 x 1812p) resolution. While the exterior is an HD+ 2316 x 904p Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120Hz display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. Further, the phone has an aluminum frame and the back panel also gets Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power key.

Under the hood, this new foldable is packing the horsepower of Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset based on 4nm architecture by TSMC. This 5G silicon brings a 10% improvement in raw performance over Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is an Octa-Core processor with 1×3.19 GHz Cortex-X2 & 3×2.75 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510 cores. For gaming and graphics, the phone draws the power from Adreno 730 GPU. The chipset is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
It boots on Samsung’s OneUI 4.1.1 skin built on top of Android 12L. It also comes with a PC-like taskbar for quick access to apps. Some optimizations have also been done for apps like Facebook, Netflix, Microsoft Teams, Disney+, and Youtube for this foldable phone. There is also a Flex mode for working like a laptop. The company has also promised to provide 4 years of major Android updates and 5 years of security updates for this foldable phone.
Coming to the optics, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is sporting an improved triple camera setup on the back. The device gets a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS plus EIS support for stabilization. The second sensor is a 10MP Telephoto shooter with 3X Optical Zoom and OIS. It can also zoom up to 30X digitally. Likewise, there is a 12MP ultrawide camera with a FOV of 123˚.
Video-wise, the phone can shoot up to 4K at 60fps resolution. There is also HDR10+ support for videos. And on the cover side, it flaunts a 10MP unit (f/2.2). And there is also an under-display camera with a 4MP resolution.
The phone gets its juice from a 4400mAh battery just like its predecessor. There is 25W fast wired charging support that can charge 0-50% in 30 minutes. Further, the device also gets 10W wireless charging support alongside 4.5W reversed wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 price in Nepal can be expected at Rs.2,19,999 for the 12/256GB variant. As of now, Samsung has only made the price official for the same variant which is set at USD 1,799. This foldable will make its way to the Nepalese market too.
