The Xiaomi 17T features a premium-looking design. You get a square camera module with Leica branding in the middle. While the middle frame is made up of plastic. Upfront, there is a large 6.59-inch LTPO AMOLED display with minimal bezels all around. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, and peaks at 3500 nits brightness. With 3840Hz PWM dimming and 68 billion colors, you can easily expect superb colors as well as eye safety. Meanwhile, the phone also carries IP68 certification for strong dust and water resistance. It is available to purchase in two colorways in Nepal: Blue and Violet.

Xiaomi 17T Cameras

Xiaomi continues its Leica partnership with the 17T, and the phone features a triple rear camera setup. First up, there is a 50MP primary sensor with OIS. Then there is a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, debuting for the very first time in a base T Series phone. So, portraits are going to look more stunning while the zoom itself is making it handier for faraway normal shots. Lastly, there is a 12MP ultra wide camera for wider scenes, landscapes, and group shots. On the front, the device uses a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Camera features of the Xiaomi 17T include Leica Authentic and Vibrant color modes, and Leica Master Portrait modes.

Performance

Powering the horsepower is MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, a 4nm chip paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. You can expect a similar performance to the Poco X8 Pro, which debuted a while ago. So, high fps gaming on optimized titles like PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile can be expected. Plus, it can handle your daily tasks without any hiccups. On the software side, it runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3.

Battery and Connectivity

Moving on, this new T Series phone gets its juice from a 6500mAh battery with 67W fast wired charging support. One can expect a full endurance quite easily and beyond one day on medium usage. In terms of connectivity, you get WiFi 6, 5G, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

Xiaomi 17T vs Rival

The Xiaomi 17T competes in the upper mid-range segment, standing out with its massive battery and Leica triple camera setup. It directly competes against the Vivo V70 with Zeiss optics and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. Meanwhile, Poco X8 Pro Max is also here in the game if you don’t care much about cameras and just want absolute performance. But if you are into zoom game and especially 5X portraits with a flagship-grade display and good battery life, you can’t go wrong with the Xiaomi 17T.

Should You Buy Xiaomi 17T in Nepal?

The Xiaomi 17T suits users who prioritize battery life, camera performance, and display quality. Its price has surely raised some eyebrows, but due to the ongoing RAM price hike, the effect on smartphone pricing is inevitable. For the price, the Dimensity 8500 Ultra is just decent, if not the best. But the main star of the show is flagship grade display and 5X telephoto camera. Plus, the design itself looks appeasing, while a metal frame would have been the icing on the cake.
