Nepal Telecom- the government owned Telco is ready to change its GSM network in Kathmandu. Currently they are running a ZTE network in the Capital city which will now be swapped by a Huawei network (4.8 Million project-Package B of 10 Million project). It has already been two weeks when NT informed its customers to be ready for some kind of problem during the up-gradation of its GSM network but that time it was only for the HLR Migration. NT and Huawei are together testing the new BTS in Kirtipur area which will be extended throughout the capital once they are settled for the consequences of cut over.
What to expect from new Network?
Once the old network gets swapped by a new network, customers will be getting high capacity, good quality GSM network and the best part is they will be having a good 3G network all over Kathmandu for high speed Internet. Though there will be some problems during the swap, it is told that NT and Huawei engineers will be working hard to solve such problems a.s.a.p. With the Swap, NT expects to provide good call quality and high speed Internet (3G).
It is also known that NT and Huawei are working on to build such new network all over the country.
