Ntc cheap video call service for the people with disability (PWD) is being used by 7 thousand and 84 people. Nepal Telecom had launched the offer for the PWD last year on Ashad 31.
As a part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), Ntc had provided video call and SMS service at affordable rate to the speaking and hearing impaired people. Both the service can only be used within Nepal Telecom network.
Cost of the video call and SMS service for people with disability
The cost of the two services in the special SIM for the PWD are as follows:
- Cost of video call: 50 paisa per minute
- Cost of SMS: 20 paisa per SMS (which was introduced in Magh 2073).
How to take Ntc cheap video call for person with disability
Those personnel need to carry their identification that proves their hearing and speaking disability to Ntc. They will get a SIM card (with that video call feature) at Rs 90, which includes Rs 50 talk time. The SIM card is like the normal SIM card as of the same price but it will have cheap Video call and SMS rates. The cheap video call and SMS comes handy for all those hearing and speaking impaired people. They are using sign language to communicate through the video appearing on their screen. Texting is also another great form of communication for the people who cannot hear. It is of great importance for them as there would not be any other means of communication for them.
SMS service works with every SIM, phone whereas the video call service only works with 3G technology (WCDMA). The users need not only have 3G handsets but also the video calling feature in the phone.
