It is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which avoids display from getting scratches.
Now coming to the design, this is where things start getting interesting. At the first look, we can see a punch-hole front camera setup at the top left corner of the display which seems to be the trend in smartphones right now.
The frame of the phone is plastic built and the whole body of the phone has Water-repellent coating which doesn’t let the water enter the phone’s inner body when dropped or splashed by water.
There are volume rockers and sensor power buttons which also is the phone’s fingerprint sensor at the right edge of the phones whereas hybrid Sim Tray at the left edge and Type-C port, speaker grill, and a traditional 3.5mm headphone back at the bottom edge.

For the rear camera setup, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 rocks a Quad camera setup; 48MP main sensor (Same as One Plus 8 Pro) 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP macro sensor, and another 2MP depth field sensor fitted in a rectangular camera module at the top middle side of the phone.
The images that this setup generates are of really high quality, detailed, well saturated, filled with vibrant colors, and sharpened. This setup can also record videos in 1080p at 30fps and is supported by a LED flash for taking bright photos/videos in a dark environment. Samsung Galaxy M21 has already been launched in Nepal with a price tag that starts from NRS. 22,999, which is the same price as that of Redmi Note 9. M21 equips Exynos 9611 chipset, 6000mAh battery, 15W Fast charging, Quad rear camera setup with 48MP main camera sensor, and 20MP selfie shooter.
Going head to head with M21, Redmi Note 9 wins when it comes to 18W Fast charging, 9W reverse charging, and the hole-punch design. Whereas the AMOLED screen in M21 and higher battery capacity rocks with M21.
Xiaomi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro are also famous phones by Xiaomi which recorded good sales in Nepal and Globally. Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with Helio G90T chipset, 4500mAh battery, 20MP front camera and Quad rear camera setup featuring 64MP main camera sensor. As for Note 9 Pro, it is equipped with Snapdragon 720G, 6GB RAM, and Quad rear camera setup with 64MP main camera sensor. The selfie shooter is also of 16MP. The front design of Note 9 Pro is a bit different from its “Centered Hole-punch”.
Now the question still remains, should you really buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 instead of Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 9 Pro, we say yes, you should. Even if the camera setup is the same or a bit higher, the software stabilization plays a vital role in which Note 9 wins.
The MediaTek Helio G85 is the latest chipset from MediaTek which gives it an upper-hand and the 5020mAh is also larger than Note 8 Pro and the same as Note 9 Pro. 18W Fast charging along with 9W Reverse charging isn’t featured on Redmi Note 8.
Note 9 also rocks new hole-punch design instead of a water-drop notch, new rectangular rear camera module instead of vertical alignment. So Redmi Note 9 has all the upper-hand and the price range is also kind of similar so, going for Redmi Note 9 seems better in every aspect than Redmi Note 8 Pro.

As for Note 9 Pro, the fast charging speed is 30W, it has Snapdragon 720G chipset with Adreno 618 GPU and can shoot videos in 4K at 30fps. The benefits may be a bit higher in Note 9 Pro but so is the price tag. If you don’t care about money go for Note 9 Pro, but if care about money but want value for money than Redmi Note 9 will be the right choice.
