Yarsa Labs Startup and Idea Fest has concluded with great success. As a pre-event campaign for InfoDevelopers ICT Award 2022 in Association with Genese, Startup and Idea Fest was organized at Baneshwor Banquet in Thapagaon of Kathmandu.
The event drew over 15 thousand participants over its two-day events which ran from 11 am – 5 pm.
On Friday 4th November, the Fest started with flowers being showered down by drones. The founder of Living with ICT and coordinator Razan Lamsal coordinated the opening ceremony.
Mr. Lamsal said the Fest was organized to exhibit the startups and innovations designed by the youths across Nepal under one roof.
Former Science and Technology minister Ganesh Shah attended as its chief guest. Baikuntha Aryal, the Secretary of MoCIT, was also present as the chief guest at the event.
Likewise, Deputy Director of Nepal Telecommunication Authority Pradeep Paudel, Agni Ghimire of Nepal Telecom, NJ Subedi and Shushil Bhandari of Yarsa Labs, Knowledge Expert Hempal Shrestha, Resham Bhandari of InfoDevelopers, Subodh Gautam of Smart QR, Sushil Bhattarai, coordinator of Steam Camp and others participated in the program as guests.
Innovations and Ideas connect the country – former minister Shah
Speaking at the closing ceremony, former Minister Shah said that new innovations and ideas will connect the country. He shared that the digital economy should be more export-oriented stating that a digital economy will minimize the trade deficit of Nepal.
In the same program, Knowledge Expert Shrestha thanked everyone who helped to successfully conclude the Startup and Idea Fest. He revealed that he visited all seven provinces and selected the innovative ideas of the youth and brought them to Kathmandu.

The two participants also expressed their experiences. Sanchit Panta from Madhesh Province said that the program will serve as a motivation for developing startups.
Dinesh Thapa, founder of XDezo Technologies from Gandaki Province was another to express his views. He said that the fest will play a significant role in the growth and expansion of IT. He expressed the belief that the three boot camps prior to the formal event will boost his startup venture.

The Startup Idea and Fest will play a positive role in the growth of innovation
Managing Director of Yarsa Labs Sushil Bhattarai expressed his belief that the ideas and startups at the fest will play a positive role in the development of Nepal.
The two-days Fest was a free-to-enter program. The program had the exhibition of startups and ideas from the participants from seven provinces and the top 12 from InfoDevelopers ICT Award 2022 totaling over 100 products.
The program also arranged for voting for the top 12 ICT Award 2022 contenders. The electronic voting machine by Ramlaxman Innovations was used for voting.
The Squad of Changemakers and Innovate Ghar Nepal also organized Steam Camp and Asteroid workshop.
Some of the worth noting Startups showcased in the event are Galli maps, Aztec Nayan, Ringaze, FinPOS, Ramailo games, DecisionMentor, Karobar App, Askmattrab, Autonomous eagle, and Ezzeeats.
An all-inclusive fair
At the Fest, steam camp, job fair, AI and Emerging Technology, Gaming Competition, Investment Opportunities, meetups with entrepreneurs and investors, robotics, drone, AR, VR, and other activities were also part of it.
Concluding the program, coordinator Lamsal thanked everyone for helping organize the program which seeks to promote startups and expand them. He shared that similar programs will be organized in the coming days for the development of Nepal’s digital ecosystem.
Infodevelopers, Nepal telecom, Genese, Huawei, Smart QR, Daraz, Presidential Business School, IME Pay, Broadway Infosys, Veda, Silver Lining, Fusemachines, etc. have supported the Startup and Idea Fest 2022.
Besides, the Ministry of Communication, Information, and Technology (MoCIT), Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), NITC, NAAST, FNCCI, etc also helped stage the popular show.
