Ntc Provides Free Data to use Himalayan Bank Mobile App

Nepal Telecom (NTC) is providing free mobile data to use the mobile banking app of Himalayan Bank. The benefit will help people use the bank’s mobile banking services without bothering about the data pack or PAYG tariff.

To bring the service, both Ntc and Himalayan Bank have signed an agreement. On Chaitra 20, Sangita Pahadi, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Ntc, and Ujjwal Rajbhandari, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Himalayan Bank signed the agreement papers.

On the occasion, Ntc CCO Mrs. Pahadi said that the telco is continuing its effort to facilitate mobile banking app users with free access. She expressed the belief that users will get good facilities from it. Likewise, the bank’s acting CEO Mr. Rajbhandari also expressed delight at the agreement with the state-backed telco. He expressed the belief that cooperation with the company will play a significant role in providing the bank’s customers with its services.

Free Data for mobile banking apps promotes financial inclusion

Ntc has also started cooperation with other banks to provide a similar service. It provides free data access to use NIC Asia and Nepal Bank’s mobile banking services and the list is only growing. Such initiatives promote financial inclusion and promote the growth of banked demography. A huge number of people use smartphones in Nepal. As per the central bureau of Statistics, 73% of Nepalese use smartphones, and likely, a huge number of people are using mobile banking apps. The free internet access will rid many of the inconveniences with the data packs and balance issues.

Besides that, users anywhere anytime given that there is internet access can avail of mobile banking services. Using digital means also furthers the goal of Digital Nepal framework goals.
