The Ministry of Communication, Information, and Technology (MoCIT) has opened a vacancy for the post of Nepal Telecom Managing Director (NTC MD) 2081. Releasing a notice, the ministry first published the vacancy on Tuesday, Jestha-22, 2081.
The post is without its full-time incumbent after Sunil Paudel was suspended following the National Payment Gateway (NPG) corruption charges. Then, MoCIT appointed Sangita Pahadi as the company’s acting MD on Ashoj 17, 2080. The state-backed company is now looking for its executive head for a full term.
Nepal Telecom announces vacancy for MD post 2081
Through its public notice, the company has called for applications from eligible candidates to be its next managing director. MoCIT amended the Appointment and Service Facility-related Directives 2081 for Nepal Telecom MD before announcing the vacancy. Here, we list all the eligibility requirements to fit in the vacancy for the next Nepal Telecom MD post 2081.
The candidate must be 35 years old not exceeding 58. He/she must have attained a master’s degree or equivalent in Commerce, Administration, Economics, Law, or IT. The Communication Ministry also accepts post-graduates in electronics engineering, telecommunication engineering, computer engineering, and civil, or mechanical engineering.
Likewise, the candidate must have experience serving in a managerial post for at least 12 years in government-owned or partially owned companies such as Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited, a telecom service provider, or other similar ones. The ministry states that managerial position refers to the tenth or higher level in the case of bodies with a hierarchical system and the gazetted first class or higher in the case of agencies with a hierarchical system.
The candidate must be qualified in accordance with the directive for Appointment and Service Facility-related Directives (first amendment) 2081.
Required documents
To apply for the vacancy of Nepal Telecom MD post 2081, candidates will require the following documents:
- An application that states the willingness of the candidate to be the next Nepal Telecom MD
- A copy of the Nepali citizenship
- Biodata that clearly mentions the eligibility, experience, and contact of the candidate
- Copy of educational certificate, equivalence if the candidate has attained the degree from a foreign educational institution
- The Nepal Telecom MD post 2081 also requires that the candidate must produce a copy of the character certificate mentioning level in officer level/rank
- A work plan of over 5000 words typed either in Nepali or English in A4 size papers (The top of the first page shall have the candidate’s name, surname, and address and no other such self-identifying signs or mentions elsewhere). The work plan shall be enclosed during its submission
- A copy of a recently taken passport-size photo
The ministry says that the educational qualification and work experience of the candidate shall be certified via Notary Public. Also, the candidate must submit their application with a self-declared form regarding their eligibility. The ministry recommends the candidates are recommended based on their work plan, presentation, educational qualification, experience, and interview. The sample for the self-declaration form is available at www.mocit.gov.np.
The application must be submitted within 15 days from the date of the vacancy issued. After receiving applications, MoCIT will select three candidates with the evaluation and recommend them to the cabinet. Then the government will appoint the Managing Director of Nepal Telecom, from the cabinet decision.
