Nepal Telecom (NTC) has released its financial report for the second quarter (Q2) of Fiscal Year FY 2081/82. According to the report, the company’s profit fell by 33 percent. The report details the company’s financial details from Shrawan to Poush of 2081.
The company earned a profit of Rs 2 billion, 63 crore, 51 lakh in the second quarter of FY 2081/82. This is a decrease of 33 percent by over Rs 1 billion. In the second quarter of FY 2080/81, Ntc got a profit of Rs 3 billion, 93 crore, 14 lakh. The company has been on the falling trend for its revenues and profits and the same has continued in the Q2 of FY 2081/82.

Till Q2 of FY 2081/82, the company generated revenue of Rs 17 billion 49 lakh from customer services. This has also declined by 1.4 percent year-on-year. Last fiscal year FY 2080/81, the company posted Rs 17 billion, 24 crore, and 67 lakhs in revenue from customer services during the same period.

Nepal Telecom sees quarterly decline in revenue in second quarter of FY 2081/82
Nepal Telecom (NTC) posted revenue of Rs 8 billion, 32 crore, 47 lakh, and 39 thousand from customer services in the second quarter of FY 2081/82. In the previous fiscal year FY 2080/81, the company brought in Rs 8 billion, 66 crore, 17 lakh, and 6 thousand.

Additionally, the company’s operating revenue is Rs 17 billion and 24 crore in FY 2081/82. It was Rs 17 billion and 49 crore in the same duration in FY 2080/81. That is the company’s operating revenue declined by 1.46 percent.
Likewise, the company’s financial revenue also fell during this period. The company’s financial revenue went down from Rs 3.61 billion to Rs 2.30 billion. But its revenue from other sources increased from Rs 21 crore to Rs 44.65 crore.
As of now, Nepal Telecom’s paid-up capital is Rs 18 billion. The government has announced a plan to increase Ntc’s public share to 25 percent.
