Telecom operator Ncell has requested protestors to refrain from vandalism after its central office in Kathmandu was attacked. The telco requested everyone to help ensure continuous telecom services. It’s also announced free phone calls and data services to ensure connectivity in these tense times.
The Gen Z protests turned on their head on September 09, 2025. And as the events kept unfolding, protesters went on to attack telecommunication service providers’ infrastructures. Ncell was not exempt from it. Ncell shared that today (September 09), the company’s central office was vandalized by protesters. The government-company Ntc also shared a notice for protesters not to attack on its infrastructures.
The company said that an attack on telecom services and public services is likely to cause inconveniences to the customers. So, it requested everyone to help the company provide uninterrupted telecom service.

Ncell announces free voice, data, SMS amidst Gen Z Protests
Ncell said that it’s providing free voice, data, and SMS services amidst the Gen Z protests. The company said that it will provide free service for two days in a move to ensure easy access to telecom services.
The company has expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic incidents during the Gen Z protests since September 8.
