State-run telecom company Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched 4G in Talkot, Bajhang district. The company brought the fourth-generation cellular service into operation in the remote region after installing a cell tower on Bungadada, Talkot Rural Municipality- 4.
The company now provides 4G through the cell tower on Bungadada. Users can use 4G for high-speed data on their smartphones and tablets. At the same time, using Ntc VoLTE enables HD voice on the Ntc network. Ntc also launched its 4G service in Tilicho, and 2G service in Tsho Rolpa.
According to Tilak Dhami, an engineer at the Nepal Telecom Provincial Directorate, Attariya, currently based in Talkot, 4G service has come into operation since Thursday, October 16, 2025. As per technical adjustments, he said that 2G service will be phased out from Friday, October 17, 2025.

Ntc 4G in Talkot Bajhang and expansion plans
Currently, Ntc has switched on 4G in Talkot of Bajhang district. But going forward, the company will soon launch the broadband network in Jjayaprithvi Municipality-1 and 5, Chabispathivera Rural Municipality-1, and Khaptadchhanna Rural Municipality. The company has said that once the necessary infrastructure is installed, services will be brought into operation. As of now, Talkot wards no. 1 and 4 have the coverage of 4G.
Communication Minister Jagdish Kharel had made coordination and efforts for the launch of 4G in Talkot. He said that priority is to launch modern and reliable telecom services in rural and remote areas of the country. He added that he is making more efforts to expand and improve the condition of telephone and internet services in Bajhang, Bajura, and Jajarkot. The minister has also directed concerned agencies to focus on service expansion in Karnali, Farwest, and Madesh provinces. With the recent launch in Talkot, Bajhang, Ntc 4G coverage has extended well beyond 98% local levels and will soon hit blanket coverage across Nepal.
