Nepal Telecom warns customers about fraudulent SMS regarding bank, ConnectIPS

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has warned customers regarding the fraudulent SMS coming in the name of banks and digital payment systems. In a social media notice, the company requested users to be aware and not share their OTP and passwords with anyone to keep their personal details safe.

The company has shared that the SMS service of NTC is being misused to send SMS in the name of various banks and digital payment systems, including ConnectIPS. It further adds that these messages are encouraging customers to visit suspicious websites or links, stating that their accounts have been suspended, temporarily closed, or have other problems.

The company has requested customers to be aware of such SMS, phone calls, and suspicious links. Before using any link, the company has also requested them to verify the information through the official website or mobile app of the concerned organization and to keep their personal details safe.

Besides bank apps and ConnectIPS, you may also get suspicious messages in the name of digital wallets. But be careful that there could be rogue people behind trying to sneak your personal details for misuse.

NT has requested customers not to click on unknown or suspicious links, not to share confidential details, including OTP, Password, PIN, CVV (Card Verification Value) with anyone. As usual, the company has again requested users to use only the official channels of the concerned organization for banking and digital payment-related information.

If you receive a suspicious SMS, phone call, or link, NT says that you should immediately inform it.

The company has cordially requested its users to stay safe from such misleading activities, as the safety of customers is the company’s top priority.
