Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Overview
Design and Display
Samsung Galaxy S26 series is the successor to the Galaxy S25 series and comes with a similar design to its previous generation phones. However, there’s a slight deviation. The phones now have their camera module set on a raised surface. It helps these new entrants stand out from the other models from recent years. They have round corners, which help with a better grip and holding in the hands for a long time. They come with IP68 certification for protection from water and dust. The frames have Armor aluminum 2 and no Titanium. It seems the latter is now chalked off from the South Korean OEM once and for all. In terms of weight, the Ultra model weighs 214 grams, while the Plus and the base model weigh 190 grams and 167 grams, respectively.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 6.9-inch display, while the Plus and the vanilla variants include a 6.7-inch and a 6.3-inch panel. All of these feature an LTPO AMOLED screen, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 2600 nits of peak brightness.
Performance and memory
The Galaxy S26 series runs with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset underneath. But going by the tradition, Samsung splits the two base models, S26 Plus and S26, between Qualcomm’s and Exynos 2600 chipsets in different regions. Though they don’t really reflect much noticeable difference in daily life.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of memory, while there’s a 1 TB variant paired with 16 GB of RAM as well. On the other hand, the S26+ and S26 come with 12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of storage. All these three phones boot on One UI 8.5 and receive 7 major Android OS upgrades.
Camera
The Galaxy S26 Ultra features a quad-camera setup. It’s got a main 200 MP wide-angle camera, 50 MP ultrawide camera, 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom, and a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom. The Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 sport a tri-camera setup with 50 MP wide, 10 MP telephoto, and a 12 MP ultrawide camera. All three come with a 12 MP selfie unit on the front. There isn’t a major leap on the camera’s front. The S25 and S25+ phones also carried similar camera specs and calibre. We are not complaining as much, though.

Battery, Connectivity, and Other Features
Galaxy S26 Ultra sports a familiar 5000mAh battery with 60W wired charging. The Galaxy S26 Plus and S26 feature a 4900mAh and 4300mAh battery, respectively. They come with 45W and 25W fast-charging. All these phones support WiFi 7, 5G, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.2, etc.

Our Verdict

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Series doesn’t try to revolutionize much. It rather continues to follow from the established norms and plays safely with a bit of a tweak. The design has changed on the back with the cameras set on a raised surface, and in terms of innovation, Samsung counts on the privacy display, which is exclusively available on the S26 Ultra only. Anyway, the phones are powered by the latest Snapdragon chipset and come with improved Galaxy AI features.
The question is whether you think they are worthy enough to spend big, and the choice is always subjective.
