Nothing Phone (4a) Pro Overview

Design and Display

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro back

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro has changed its design direction. The back now forms a horizontal and large camera island with a large sensor for its main camera. Also, this time, Nothing has used a metal unibody for this model instead of a plastic chassis. This has rendered the phone’s thickness to just 7.95 mm, the slimmest Nothing phone ever. The Glyph Matrix comprises a circular 137 mini-LEDs. It’s trendy and refreshing.

The phone’s got a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 144 Hz screen and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. It’s larger than the one on Nothing (4a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, the direct predecessor. The screen has 1260 x 2800 pixels of resolution, and a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for protection. The panel supports Ultra HDR image support, too.

Camera

The optics share similarity in terms of MP count. The main camera is a 50 MP sensor with OIS. The periscope telephoto is a 50 MP unit with OIS and 3.5X optical zooming capacity, and there’s an 8 MP ultrawide camera. The front keeps a 32 MP selfie camera, just like the Phone (4a). The cameras are backed by AI, and users can use various AI features to enhance their photos. The new camera alignment on the back gives users a meaningful design refreshment, too.

Performance and Storage

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro runs on Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The company philosophizes that a smartphone doesn’t need the ‘best’ specs to perform but requires proper balance and optimization. So, it’s not the best Qualcomm processor; however, it does well enough to command respect. It’s got 8 and 12 GB of RAM, and storage options include 128 and 256 GB. The phone boots on Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.1 and will receive 3 major Android upgrades.

Battery, Connectivity, and Other Features

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro features a 5080mAh battery with 50W wired charging. It’s also got a 7.5W reverse wired charging. The Indian variant, though, gets a 5400mAh cell. The phone connects to 5G, WiFi 6, and comes with an NFC function. It’s got an under-display fingerprint sensor for security.
