Summary✨

  • Nepali freelancers can now receive payments directly on Khalti via Stripe, simplifying international transactions.
  • The partnership eliminates the need for SWIFT and third-party services, making payment easier for content creators and businesses.
  • Users can receive money in Nepali currency, instantly deposited into their Khalti account at competitive exchange rates.
  • Freelancers can create payment links through the Khalti app and share them with clients, who can pay using various methods like cards or mobile wallets.
  • This streamlined process allows freelancers to expand their services and facilitates convenient fund transfers from family and friends abroad.

Nepali freelancers can now receive their payment directly on their Khalti account via Stripe. The facility has been provided by Khalti by IME thanks to its partnership agreement with Stripe, a prominent global financial platform. This lets Nepali content creators, freelancers, ad agencies, etc. get payment right on the Khalti app in Nepali currency.

With Stripe integrated on Khalti, users won’t need to bother with SWIFT or rely on foreign-based third parties, middlemen, or even relatives to settle the payment. For many content creators and freelancers, receiving payment from international clients has been hard due to the lack of an easy payment method. Stripe counters that effectively. Within a few taps, the client can credit your fee into your Khalti account.

The condition? The client or the person/business that is paying you shall use Google Pay, Apple Pay, Visa, Mastercard, or an international bank account to send money via Stripe to Khalti. Looking at the condition, it very much looks like the international payment has become just too easy for Nepali users.

Although cross-border Nepal-India payment is available, it hasn’t yet been practical for Nepalese who need to receive money from their international clients from many different countries. Khalti-Stripe partnership comes to the rescue with a secure payment system.

Khalti-Stripe Benefits

According to Khalti, the ability to get international payments in Khalti comes with these benefits.

  • Freelancers and consultants: Freelancers and consultants who provide their services from Nepal can get their payment instantly on Khalti, and that in Nepali currency.
  • Content creators: No doubt to say that Nepal’s thousands of content creators will directly benefit from Khalti-Stripe payment partnership. They won’t have to deal with SWIFT code or use third-party services to receive their fees from international clients. The same goes for Nepali or Nepal-based streamers.
  • Businesses: As the payment mode gets easier, businesses can expand their services to more regions and get payment in Nepali currency.
  • Families and friends: Khalti users can receive funds from their family and friends abroad, which can be very convenient during festivals, special occasions, or emergencies.
  • Payment in local currency: Money received by Nepali users is converted to Nepali rupees at competitive exchange rates.
  • Instant payment: When the sender sends the money, it is instantly deposited into the Khalti user’s account. The whole process is very fast and efficient while also being secure.

How can Nepali freelancers get payment on Khalti via Stripe?

This is how Nepali freelancers and content creators can get payment in Khalti from international clients via Stripe:

  • Open the Khalti app
  • Find and tap Stripe
  • Enter details such as currency, amount, and the sender’s email address
  • Enter your Khalti PIN to create a payment link
  • Share the link via email, WhatsApp, or any social platform
  • The sender opens the link and verifies via one-time identity verification
  • The sender chooses a payment method, such as a card, a wallet, or a bank, to make the payment

PS: The sender can send the money by using Visa Card, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, WeChat Pay, Alipay, UnionPay, Samsung Pay, etc.

Khalti says that the same email address is used for future payments, which means it bypasses the verification process that takes place at first.
