Daraz Nepal has announced the departure of Aanchal Kunwar as its Managing Director. The eCommerce giant has said that Kunwar, who took office as the MD back in early 2022, will continue to serve at the company as an advisor. Kunwar is being replaced by Ben Yi as the Acting MD of the company, while Ratish Luitel will be appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer. The company says that the transition takes effect on July 1, 2026.
At Daraz Nepal, Kunwar served for over four and a half years, taking the company to new heights while promoting Nepali businesses on the platform. According to the company’s presser, under her lead, the platform achieved substantial growth and transformation.
“Under her leadership, Daraz Nepal more than doubled its business size, grew its customer base to over three million, expanded its seller ecosystem to over 24,000, of which 85% are SMEs, and extended its reach to more than 140 locations nationwide,” the company notes.
Besides, she has played a leading role in entrepreneurship and digital commerce in Nepal, playing a significant role in uplifting small businesses and making eCommerce integral to daily life for millions.
The company adds, “She built a high-performing leadership team grounded in ownership, accountability, and customer-centricity, leaving Daraz Nepal well-positioned for continued progress.”

Ben Yi to become the next Managing Director of Daraz Nepal
Ben Yi is set to replace the outgoing Kunwar as the Managing Director of Daraz Nepal. Currently, Yi is serving as the Chief Commercial Officer of Daraz Group and the current Managing Director of Daraz Bangladesh.
Ben brings leadership experience across the Alibaba Group ecosystem since joining in 2015. He boasts a strong track record in driving eCommerce growth, cross-border commerce, business development, and platform operations.
Likewise, Ratish Luitel, a seven-year veteran of Daraz Nepal with over 15 years of experience in finance and operations, will serve as the Chief Commercial Officer for Daraz Nepal.
