Ncell has submitted about Rs 5 billion to Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) for its license renewal payment. The leading private operater deposited Rs 4 arba, 96 crore, 45 lakh, 82 thousand, 1 hundred 91 into NTA’s bank account in Nabil Bank in Tindhara, Kathmandu.
Of the total amount, Rs 4.25 billion is principal. It also includes Rs 64 crore, 92 lakh, 60 thousand, 2 hundred and 73 in interest from Bhadra 07 to the end of Ashar, 2083 or 328 days. Likewise, it includes Rs 6 crore, 53 lakh, 21 thousand, 9 hundred 17 as interest from Shrawan 01, 2083 to Bhadra 02, 2083, or of 33 days.
Prior to this, the telco has already paid the premium and interest amount of Rs 3.29 billion due up to Bhadra 06, 2082. Before that, the company paid Rs 2 billion on Asar 29, 2082.

Ncell is closer to license renewal installment payment clearance
The government has allowed Ncell to pay its Rs 20 billion in four installments. The amount is to be cleared for its license renewal. The government has imposed a 10% annual interest on the remaining installments. After the license expired, Ncell had paid Rs 4 billion in the first installment on Jestha 14, 2081, applying for the license renewal.
The telco says that it has contributed about Rs 375 billion to the government in taxes and various fees since its inception. The company conducts various community upliftment programs under its CSR initiatives.
Ncell in its current form started as Mero Mobile on Bhadra 16, 2061. The company will reach 25 years in service in 2086 BS.
