Who will get the top post?

The ministry will evaluate the candidates as per their work plan, presentation, educational qualification, etc. Also, the candidates’ work experience will come into consideration for their selection.

Then, three candidates will be shortlisted and recommended to the government. The cabinet will then appoint the next incumbent to lead the government-backed telecom company.

The ministry has recently amended the directives for NTC MD appointment and facility readjusting age, qualification, and other criteria. This will accommodate the applicants who might have missed out due to factors such as age and other experiences.

Leading a successful government enterprise is a matter of tremendous pride and challenge and the new incumbent will have both opportunities and hurdles in the current challenging times of the telecom industry in Nepal.
