The Trump Organization has announced the launch of Trump Mobile, a carrier network that he claims will revolutionize cellular service in the US. At the same time, the company also launched a ‘made in USA’ Android phone, T1.
The Trump Mobile carrier service was announced on the 10th anniversary of Trump’s first presidential run. A website https://www.trumpmobile.com/ is now live that offers insight into the carrier network and subscription. “Trump Mobile is a next-generation wireless provider with bold ambitions and a customer-first mission,” the website declares.
At the core of the Trump Mobile is its “47 plan” at $47.45 per month. The 47 plan celebrates the event of Trump becoming the 47th and 45th president of the US during his two terms. The subscription comes with unlimited voice, text, and data services, device protection, telehealth services, free International calling to more than 100 countries, etc.
“We are going to be introducing an entire package of products where people can come and they can get telemedicine on their phones for one flat monthly fee, roadside assistance on their cars, unlimited texting to 100 countries around the world,” Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., said.
Trump Mobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO)
Trump Mobile is actually a virtual mobile network. In strict telecom terms, it’s a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). What it means is that the service doesn’t run on its dedicated telecom equipment, such as towers, poles, cables, and other infrastructure. It actually leases its service from other existing carriers.
To be specific, Trump Mobile works through the US’s three main telcos- AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. That means the company is using the telecom service of other established mobile network operators (MNOs) on rent.

The US telecommunications industry is dominated by the above-mentioned three telcos. They altogether hold over 98% of the market. In the meantime, MVNOs occupy around 4% of market share, but the trend of such services is rising in niche markets.
Unlike a traditional carrier network, MVNOs can provide affordable services and better customer service. Another key advantage is that it can provide subscribers personalized serivces to suit their needs.

Debate over T1 Phone’s manufacturing claims
The Trump Organization has strongly claimed that the phone will be manufactured entirely in the US, but it has been debated by experts, citing that it will require components that are processed and assembled in China and other countries. Anyway, the phone aligns with Trump’s recent scuffle with Apple over phones being made in the US.
The Trump Organization share that T1 Mobile will be out in August 2025. It expects to lure in customers for affordable mobile services and redefine the “American-made” theme.
Time will tell if Trump Mobile and the T1 phone resonate with the public as the Trump Organization expects.
