Prominent eCommerce platform Daraz has brought an AI-powered ChatGPT feature AskDaraz into its mobile app. The chatbot service which comes from Microsoft Azure OpenAI allows customers to ask for details of the products they find on Daraz platforms.

Daraz says that the integration of the in-app discovery service is in line with its effort to uplift communities through the power of commerce.

AskDaraz is backed by the sensationally powerful OpenAI ChatGPT which will greatly benefit users with queries regarding products available on its platform. Users can discuss with AskDaraz and get instant and personalized recommendations- Daraz says that the use of ChatGPT will make shopping easy, fun, and simple. “This truly brings the unique offline experience of engaging with a shop assistant online,” the online shopping giant said in a post.

Daraz is the largest online shopping site in Nepal as well. Therefore, the launch of the ChatGPT feature AskDaraz is not only exciting but also fruitful to the Daraz App users. The feature will greatly elevate and enhance shopping on the popular eCommerce site.

Ask Daraz in any language thanks to the power of ChatGPT

AskDaraz lets users ask Daraz in any language and get personalized recommendations. Not only that, the service allows products to be delivered to customers’ doorstep across Daraz markets bringing access for customers to dozens of millions of products.

Edouard Gheerbrant, Chief Operating Officer at Daraz Asia says that Daraz users can now naturally discuss with AskDaraz in any language and receive instant and personalized recommendations of products. Likewise, he stressed that it’s part of Daraz’s mission to uplift communities by leveraging the power of commerce. He believes that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is transforming the digital landscape and holds immense potential in its “frontier markets.”

He continues that people in South Asia struggle with access to goods and services despite growing internet access. But the tool such as AskDaraz will bridge that gap by offering an alternative to the language barrier, low literacy, and narrow retail distribution.

A milestone in eCommerce transformation- Daraz!

Combining a chatbot online for eCommerce is not new. However, bringing the tool of extremely versatile and intelligent AI-language chat marks a new era in online shopping. Daraz hails AskDaraz ChatGPT feature as a key milestone in its drive for eCommerce transformation in the region.

Daraz on AskDaraz integration in its mobile app

Daraz, formerly Kaymu is one of Asia’s regional leading online shopping platforms. It has a share of the globally dominant Alibaba Group as well. The company operates in Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Myanmar.

AskDaraz is available in Nepal

The good thing is that AskDaraz Future is available in Nepal. You can find it at the bottom tab through “Discover” on the mobile app. When you launch your Daraz app, a pop-up screen also shows an interface that displays Daraz notice that it has launched the ChatGPT feature on its app.

How to use AskDaraz in Nepal?

  • Tap on “Discover” at the bottom of the Daraz app.
  • Then a box appears where you need to enter your query for any of your favorite clothes or products.
  • Then the ChatGPT-backed AskDaraz gives you recommendations tailored for you based on your description.

Daraz’s AskDaraz feature is available on both Android and iOS platforms. If your app doesn’t show the Discover option, an update to the latest version to get it on your Daraz app.
