Nominations for Nepal’s biggest tech prize, ICT Award 2021 have begun online from Ashar 8, 2078 (June 22). Now, you can apply for the prestigious ICT accolade in 11 categories including both individual and institutional prizes. Living with ICT is organizing the 6th edition of the ICT Award in collaboration with various private and public organizations.
The organizers announced the opening of ICT Award 2021 nominations in a virtual press conference last Tuesday (Ashar 8). They also revealed that most of the selection committee meetings will take place online due to COVID-19 restrictions. For the same reason, ICT award winners were honored at a special event in Soltee Hotel on December 23, 2020, last year. Huawei ICT Award 2020 had received more than 400 applications for the winning prizes in 12 categories.
ICT Award Began in 2016 with the objective to reinforce the growth of the ICT sector in the country. Now, it has become the most sought-after event for tech enthusiasts and professionals for tech aspirants. Since its inception, more than 50 individuals, organizations, products, and companies have found their ultimate ICT Award honors.

Selection Process
The organizing committee has made the selection process more systematic and fair this year. The nominees will go through multiple stages of the selection process and a field evaluation. A 12 members jury team will select the nominees in various stages in the various selection processes for 3 months.
There will be 3 rounds of selection for nominees in the Startup, Product, Student Star Innovation category. When the top 5 nominees are decided in each category, public voting will go live to determine the winners. Similarly, in other genres, the winners will be decided over 4 different virtual selections followed by a field visit.
From the obvious recognition and a tonic to their ICT profile, the winners are also subject to services and facilities with special honors. Startup, Product, Rising Star categories will receive loan facility and investment opportunity to capitalize on their chances.

Note: Last year, A COVID-19 targeted Ncell Innovation Driven Crisis award was added and Paaila Emergency Resuscitator received the honors for their service during the hostile COVID-19 situations. The company provided ventilators to the hospitals when their supply hit hard as the Coronavirus cases soared.

How To Apply for ICT Award 2021 Online?
Bidding for the highest ICT honor in Nepal is rather easy. You just need to be well-prepared with all the detail and files ready to submit them online. Below are the steps to nominate yourself or your organization for the flagship ICT Award 2021.
- First, go over to ictaward.org
- Click on Register Now
- Select your category
- Now, you will a long list of detail you need to fill
- Fill up all the detail and upload the required files
- Click on ‘Submit‘ at the bottom
- That’s it. You nomination will now rest in the hands of the jury.
Remember: The online application for the ICT Award 2021 will be open till Shrawan 16 (July 31).
