Nepal Telecom (Ntc) has lowered its tariff for lease line internet and intranet services by up to a massive 36%. The new tariffs will be effective from Ashar 1st. With the new scheme, subscribers will get up to 100 Mbps fiber internet service at affordable rates.

The operator has made steep discounts on its existing lease line tariffs. This will help the telco keep up with the ongoing internet speed and price war in the country. Meanwhile, businesses and organizations will find it very appealing to subscribe to Ntc’s dedicated bandwidth under the new costs.

In its latest revision, the company reduced the costs of internet and intranet services. Keep reading below to find new rates of dedicated connectivity from Nepal’s largest telecom operator.

Ntc offers 4 different packages in lease line internet service. Under this, users can get from 1  Mbps to over 100 Mbps plans in terms of speed. The starter package 1 – 20 Mbps connection now costs Rs.900 less after the latest revision. Previously, the package cost Rs.2500 a month for renewal. Ntc has slashed the tariff to a convenient Rs.1600 only.

For the 21 – 50 Mbps package, you will get it for the same Rs.1600 with the revised tariff. Previously this cost Rs.2300. If your internet consumption falls somewhere in –between the high and the basic plans, you can opt for a 50 – 100 Mbps connection. It currently costs Rs.2100. But the company has dropped the cost to Rs.1500, Rs.600 less.

The fastest internet package has also become budget-friendly. The premium >100 Mbps connection previously cost Rs.1900. It will cost Rs.1500 from Ashar 1st.

Similarly, Ntc has lowered costs for lease line intranet services. The basic package of 1 – 10 Mbps currently costs Rs.2700 a month. But with the revision, it will cost Rs.2400, less by Rs.300.

The 11 – 100 Mbps package currently costs Rs.2400 but will come down to Rs.2100 from Ashar 1st. As for the premium >100Mbps subscription, it will cost you only Rs.1800 after the revision, Rs.600 less than the existing Rs.2100.

The government-backed operator Ntc has been providing high-capacity internet and intranet lease line service keeping up with the demands in the market. The connection in the dedicated service is duplex, meaning both the downlink and uplink speed clock are the same. Besides, the services also remain consistent for 24 hours without any Fair Usage Play (FUP) restriction.

What is a lease line service and why it is worth a subscription?

A leased-line is a telecom service provided by the operator for some dedicated bandwidth/speed. This is mostly used by businesses or organization which need high-speed internet access throughout their operation.

It is beneficial for banks, financial institutions, Educational institutes, Libraries and more. Leased line service could also be a nice choice for growing startups, online service providers, Cybercafe (if it exists) for the dedicated bandwidth required for seamless internet access. Previously, it used to be in the range of 100s of Kbps but now it ranges in the speed from double to over 3 digits.

Are you delighted with Ntc for lowering its lease line services’ tariff? Do you think the packages will now be competing against the same type of packages offered by private ISPs? Do share your perspective in the comments below.
