Design
Starting off with the design of the device, the OnePlus Buds Z arrives with a distinctive design found on all OnePlus wireless audio products. It has a seashell design with polished CD patterns. The OnePlus Buds Z features an in-ear design angled earbuds with silicone ear tips. It also has a stem design with a long stalk that houses the battery, antenna, and other features. The earbuds weigh only 4.35 grams, and the charging case is only 40 grams. The OnePlus Buds Z comes coated with a Hydrophobic nano-coating and it also has an IP55 rating as well.
Audio
Talking about the audio, the OnePlus Buds Z is equipped with 10mm dynamic drivers that deliver deep bass definition. You can further elevate your sound with Dynamic 3D stereo with Dolby Atmos and panoramic sound fidelity using the latest Dirac Audio Tuner digital technology. The earbud features ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) but unfortunately lacks ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). Further, they offer two microphones on the stems for call clarity and stability.
Battery Life
Talking about the battery of the OnePlus Buds Z, each earbud has a 40mAh battery capacity and the charging case offers a battery capacity of 450mAh. It offers up to 5 hours of battery life with each earbud and an additional 15 hours of playback time. The brand claims that a quick 10 minutes of charging offers up to 3 hours of playback time. The earbuds also feature fast charging support.
Other features
Talking about the connectivity, the OnePlus Buds Z arrives with the latest Bluetooth 5.2. The wireless range of the earbuds is 10 meters and provides a stable connection within it. OnePlus Buds Z also supports Quick Pair technology.
Other features of the OnePlus Buds Z include an IP55 rating for water and sweat resistance, touch controls, Quick Pair, Intuitive Quick Switch, , and more. There’s also a gaming mode that helps to bring an ultra-low latency mode of 103ms. The latency mode works only with Fnatic mode on OnePlus 6,7,8 series, and Nord devices. You can also access Google Assistant here. It also features a “HeyMelody” app that tells the status of the buds. One can Customize the double-tap function based on their preferences.
