Ncell launches a new contest in its Yonderful Saturday event, marking the launch of Yonder music app in Nepal. The leading private telco has organized a program in the capital, to celebrate the launch along with the announcement of the Yonder Karaoke contest. The Ncell Yonder karaoke contest starts from Monday (Ashad 5 and uses the snap karaoke feature, available in the Yonder music app. Participating in the contest may make you a winner of Samsung smartphone.
The program had speech from Yonder music side and MD of Ncell, Mr. Simon Perkins. Mr Simon expressed the contribution of the music streaming app to promote the national music artists, as they are also providing royalty to the music creator. He also mentioned of the contest to enable your chance to be a star.
“We are pleased to announce weekly ‘Yonder Karaoke Contest’ which will start from Monday, in order to encourage users and amateurs to take benefits of ‘Snap Karaoke’, an interesting interactive feature of Yonder, to unleash their singing talents and get recognized. We believe the contest will contribute to bring out talents in every individual, and help the industry identify potential talents,” Perkins stated.
Ncell has collaborated with Yonder Music to serve music lovers and customers who are always on a look out for more content. The Yonder music app also contributes to sustainable growth of Nepali music industry. Yonder music app is the first music streaming service in Nepal. It has got millions of international songs (Hindi, English, more) to our very own Nepali songs.
Till now, there are 15,000 Nepali songs available in the app. Right now, the music streaming service is available free of charge, but the regular data charges will apply. Now with the Ncell 4G launch, even the data charge is free for one month, available till June.
The event also had dance performance by popular dance group; The Cartoonz Crew and some music performances by Udesh Shrestha, Anju Panta, Adrian Pradhan. After 9 pm, the event was also free to all Ncell customers having yonder music app in their smartphones. People were dancing to unlimited music from our very own DJ Redmus and DJ Aacis and guest DJ Maxine from the UK. The program was held in Club Deja Vu.
To participate in the contest, Ncell customer here can simply record their songs through Snap Karaoke. They need to share them in Facebook and Instagram using #MysnapkaraokeWeek1 tag. The video can go up to 29 seconds of their favorite song. The contest launches from this Monday (June 19, 2017).
Each week the number of the hashtag changes for sharing of karaoke song in the social media platforms. For example, to participate in second week, the app users need to use #MysnapkaraokeWeek2 tag. The contest will be held on a cyclical basis of Monday to Sunday.
Each week, they will select a total of top 10 performers on the basis of the highest number of shares and likes. There should be minimum of 100 likes with properly mentioned hashtag. A panel of Yonder spoke-artists will select one winner each week for four weeks from the top 10 performers. One time winner will not be eligible to participate again in the contest. The best snap will be declared winner of a Samsung J7 Prime smartphone.
