Baishak 11 Mega Earthquake made huge destruction in our country, killing thousands of lives, injuring tens of thousands and demolishing hundred thousand structures including cultural heritage sites. Security forces are deployed in huge numbers for the rescue and relief. Though there are areas where people are still waiting for possible rescue and relief, the works of the security forces are highly praised. Similar is the case for the works that the Government-owned telecommunication operator.
The works that Ntc have done for the resumption of their basic service (Mobile service) during the aftermath of the series of Earthquake. Due to which people were able to make the call to their friends, family to know their whereabouts.
It is known that their mobile services in the most severely hit locations are yet to be restored. But people have highly appreciated the operators work. The free service (for one week) came very usefully during that hard time. People also say the prompt decision taken by NTC management for free phones (including international calls), SMS and internet service in their mobile is remarkable.
Some of the online portals falsely reported that the used balance will be charged once the subscribers top up their balance. Nepal Telecom made it clear that the free service was for the whole week. They even tried to let customers with zero balance use their services but later went back due to possible misunderstanding later.
Ncell offers to the Earthquake victims.
As per the directions from NTA, Ncell also gave Rs 30 to the customers whose balance was less than Rs 10 and 50 free SMS to those who have a balance less than those SMS worth. Ncell says they are continuing the service to the subscribers in those affected areas.
