Nepal Telecom has made a soft launch of 4G service in 60 cities on Oct 2nd, 2019. This is their second soft launch, earlier it was in Kathmandu and Pokhara more than two years back. NTC 4G service is now available for prepaid and postpaid users. Here is how to subscribe to 4G service in Ntc.
During the launch, Ntc had provided some promotional offer of the free data package for postpaid and prepaid that time. NTC 4G subscribers got the promotional offer of 200 MB free data packages with 4G service activation for the first time. You can use the data volume within 2 days.
To use the 4G activation offer, you need to have a 4G compatible handset and universal SIM (USIM). Please check LTE 1800 MHz and 800 MHz compatibility in your handset in the specs or search for available networks (under settings- Mobile/ cellular networks)to find Nepal Telecom 4G on the list.
The access point to use Ntc 4G is the same as that for using 2G and 3G. For new users, you need to add APN with “ntnet” in the access point names. You can also read details at Ntc internet settings.
To subscribe 4G in Ntc, you should dial *444# and press 1 to activate or directly dial *444*1#. The promotional offer of a free data pack will also be available after the subscription. If your SIM is not compatible, you will be notified of the SIM card change required for 4G use.
After the completion of free data, the tariff without any data package is Rs 1 per MB (without taxes). All the available data packages in 2G and 3G are also available with 4G. Now Ntc has provided a special 4G data offer. They have provided more volume in the 4G data packs considering the fact that 4G needs higher data package consumption in a short period of time with affordable rates.
Nepal Telecom has around 20 million subscribers in the GSM family, which is inclusive of 2G, 3G, and 4G subscribers. It is known that there are around 0.8 million Ntc customers who had subscribed to 4G in their SIM. The number is known to surge high as Ntc is rolling out 4G to all parts of the country within a year.
