Ncell 4G launch in Kathmandu, provides free 1 GB data offer

Ncell, the largest private telecom operator of Nepal launches 4G network in Kathmandu. After long period of their request, they had finally got the 4G license. Though the 4G controversy is still there due to the unresolved tax issue, Ncell moves ahead of the 4G launch as per their plan from June 1, Thursday. This is the first phase of Ncell 4G launch which is known to expand to other cities later.

Ncell have already been testing their 4G network in Kathmandu. Ncell also mentions they are currently testing 4G in more cities. As known, the second phase includes 13 more cities. They intend to provide 4G to 15 percent people of the country.

Issuing a press release for 4G, Simon Perkins MD of Ncell shares their excitement to maximize the usage of technology neutrality, enabling them to proceed for national goal of digital Nepal through 4G. They even expressed their sincere gratitude to all those who believe in Ncell for this endeavor.

It is also known that Ncell is providing 1 GB free data packs as promotion after 4G subscription from next day.  Remember this is only for Ncell 4G subscribers who start using 4G till June 4. The 1 GB free data is valid for 3 days.

With the 4G activation, Ncell also provides free song listening and download from their recently launched Yonder music Nepal app till Ashar 16, 2074.

Ncell 4G signal is known to be available in all the major parts of Kathmandu city, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel and Banepa. NTA provides the 4G license through technology neutrality in 1800MHz. How to activate Ncell 4G service in your SIM?

To activate the Ncell 4G in your SIM, you need to change your SIM to U-SIM and put you phone in LTE or 4G mode. Read here for more information of SIM change for 4G.

How to check if my Ncell SIM supports 4G?

To check if your SIM supports 4G, type Q and send it to 324. Then you will get reply if your phone supports 4G or not.

What are the Ncell 4G data offers?

After the 4G activation, Ncell provides 1 GB free data pack to the subscribers valid for 3 days. Free song listening from Yonder Music Nepal app for one month is also available in Ncell 4G offer. The free music offer is valid till Ashar 16, 2074.

Where is the Ncell 4G signal available now?

Ncell 4G signal is currently available in Kathmandu City, Nagarkot, Banepa and Dhulikhel in the first phase. It will be extended to other major cities soon.

What is the speed of Ncell 4G?

Ncell tells that the maximum speed of 4G network is 33 Mbps. But the speed depends on the signal power received and the time of usage. So we can expect the speed to be around 10 to 15 Mbps in average.

It has been more than 3 months that Ntc had launched 4G in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Now, Ncell becomes the second operator to launch 4G in the country. Similarly, Smart telecom, the third largest operator has already got the 4G license to operate 4G in the country. It seems, NTA  prefers operators for 4G as per their market share.
