Smart cell 4G is finally launching here in Nepal. With the delay of around 2 months, Smart Telecom is going to make the 4G available in two main cities. We have speculated the smart cell 4G to land before Dashain. But now they have started teasing coming soon of their 4G.

Like Ntc and Ncell, Smart cell will also operate 4G network in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Pokhara. They will be the third operator to launch 4G in Nepal. We have already found them to have testing Smart 4G in Kathmandu.

As Smart Telecom got technology neutrality license in 1800 MHz, they are operating 4G in the same frequency band. Recently, the smartphone and 4G handset penetration have surged significantly, which is a good sign for the telecom operators. The telecom operators are also working hard to take advantage of the situation by using new and advanced technology.

No 3G in Smart Cell !

Currently Smart Cell have only 2G GSM network. They are providing different kind of unlimited offers to allure customers to their network. Now they are launching 4G in their network at first in Kathmandu and Pokhara. So, it seems they will not have 3G in their network. As 2G can be used for voice and 4G for high speed internet, people do not need 3G. This must be the idea of Smart Telecom- the third largest telecom company. Do not be confused here as Smart Telecom is the company and Smart Cell is the brand name.
