Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro variants in India. The device comes with almost all of the leaked specs and details. This is the first time that Xiaomi has released a Pro variant for its Redmi Note series. There were doubts regarding the release of the latest Note series phone from Xiaomi. It was due to the similar specs and release of Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones. Both of the phones look basically the same, with some specs difference.
The phones have a 5.99-inch full display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Redmi Note 5 has the same processor (SD 625) as its predecessor Redmi Note 4. Whereas the Pro version includes Snapdragon 636 (which is a global debut by Xiaomi). There is a whopping Battery capacity of 4000 mAH for both of the phones. Redmi Note 5 has 3 to 4 GB of RAM and 32/ 64 GB of storage whereas the pro variant has 4 to 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage.
Another difference between the Redmi Note duos lies in the cameras. The rear camera has a dual vertical camera of 12 MP + 5 MP in the Pro variant whereas there is a single camera of 12 MP in the Redmi Note 5. Redmi Note Pro also comes with a bigger Selfie camera of 20 MP compared to 5 MP snapper in the front for Redmi Note 5. Xiaomi is also going to provide an OTA update to include Face unlock in the Redmi Note 5 pro. Both devices have a fingerprint sensor in the back.
The first sales of the Redmi Note 5 and 5 Pro will start at 12 pm, 22nd Feb in India. The Redmi Note 5 Pro 4 GB version is available for pre-order in Nepal at cost of Rs. 28,499. Now the price is only 1200 more than the price in India, which happened due to the two distributors of Xiaomi phones in Nepal. Find here more.
