Amazon Kindle Doesn’t Work With a Cellular Network (2G, 3G) in Nepal

Amazon Kindle is one of the popular gadgets for a book lover. For which the book lovers keep it by their sides for start reading whenever they like. There are some versions of Kindle which support WiFi or a free cellular network. But such Amazon kindle does not work here with any 2G, 3G cellular data connectivity here in Nepal.

As WiFi connectivity is not assured everywhere, people also prefer the cellular network to use for the Kindle device. Another advantage is that it is also free of charge. The free cellular networks are either with high-speed 3G coverage or low speed 2G Edge/ GPRS connection.

Amazon has provided a portal to check if the free cellular network is available for their kindle device in any part of the world. When we checked it the availability of such free cellular networks for Amazon kindle, we found out that it is not available in Nepal for either 3G or 2G networks.

What we find more for the free cellular connectivity coverage?

  • High speed 3G coverage is available in several cities of India, Sri Lanka
  • Such free cellular connectivity coverage is quite low in Asia.
  • Free 3G wireless connectivity for kindle is available in most of the places in Europe, the US, and Canada.
  • Only low speed 2G data connectivity is available for China, except for Hong Kong and Taiwan.
