3 names have been recommended for Ntc MD among the candidates who have applied for the vacancy. 11 candidates have applied for the post, out of which 8 were shortlisted in the first phase. The government will now appoint one among the three.
The three names recommended for NTC MD post are Mr. Dilli Ram Adhikari, Mrs. Sangita Pahadi Aryal and Mr. Buddhi Prasad Acharya.
All of them are Telecom professionals. Mr. Buddhi Prasad Acharya had already worked as MD in Ntc before. He is Charter Accountant by profession, also worked as Secretariat of the Company. Mrs. Sangita Pahadi Aryal, an engineer by profession is working as Manager in Backbone Department. She had worked for several years as a wireless technology expert. Mr. Dilli Ram Adhikari, an engineer by profession is working as a Manager in the Managing Director’s office. He had also worked in several departments like Backbone, Business department and more.
Other shortlisted candidates from Nepal Telecom were: Mr. Pradeep Upadhyaya, Mr. Gokarna Sitaula, Mr. Sanullah Khan, Dr. Bimal Acharya, and Mr. Chandra Mohan Jha.
Now, Government will appoint the one for the Nepal Telecom post, among these three. The post has been vacant after Government sacked Kamini Rajbhandari. Ministry (MOCIT) had announced the vacancy for Nepal Telecom (NTC) MD position on Mangsir 29.
There is a big challenge for the upcoming Nepal Telecom MD in the service expansion, Quality maintenance. Government recently directs Ntc to make 4G contract to complete the works within a year. It will be the responsibility of Ntc MD to drive all of their efforts in achieving the target and develope the whole telecom sector. Nepal Telecom recently increased its profit by 10%, despite the decrement in service revenue.
