Nepal Telecom University Grants Commission Agreeement

While the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the teaching, learning process, an agreement has been signed between Nepal Telecom and University Grants Commission to facilitate the teaching and research activities.

Nepal Telecom’s MD Mr. Dilliram Adhikari and University Grants Commission’s Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Subash Chandra Dhungel signed the agreement in presence of Honorable Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Mr. Giriraj Mani Pokharel.

University Grants Commission had already formulated “Guidelines for Facilitating Alternative Mode of Learning in Higher Education-2077″ to facilitate the alternative means for the education system. Based on the guidelines, they have agreed to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the academic session.

Online learning package

With this pact, Nepal Telecom will provide the “Happy Learning package” to all those involved in the teaching, learning, and research activities from the universities and colleges of the country. Happy Learning package is a special mobile data package that enables using cellular data for online learning and other data requirements for students, teachers, researchers, and educational staff.

There are two data packages in Happy learning pack of Nepal Telecom. The pack dedicates a large volume in applications like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. The two such eLearning packages are 24GB and 35 GB pack, which includes 20GB and 30GB for the online learning applications. While you can use the remaining volume for all applications.

Learn in detail about the Ntc Happy Learning pack.

You can use all of the data volumes in 2G or 3G or 4G networks. The validity of both packages is for 28 days.

As the data speed with a 2G network is slow, you can not perform online learning with a 2G network. So, if you only have a 2G network, consider other options. Read when to use a 2G network on your mobile.

Minister Mr. Giriraj Mani Pokharel expressed that the challenges to make the education system technology-friendly shall be overcome soon with programs. He opined that the agreement will enable knowledge transfer and education through technology at an affordable rate.

Grants commissions Mr. Bhim Prasad Subedi said that the pact will support the educational program of the country with the continuation of teaching, learning, and research activity at a minimum cost.

Similarly, Nepal Telecom MD Mr. Dilliram Adhikari expressed his commitment to easing the educational environment in this critical pandemic period.
