Realme Becomes the Fastest Smartphone Brand to Sell 100 Million Handsets Globally

Realme has announced that they are the fastest brand to sell 100 million smartphones globally. It is one of the most popular and fastest-growing smartphone brands in the world. The brand took three years to accomplish this feat. Realme also recently announced that they’ll re-enter the Nepalese Tech market.

According to Strategy Analytics, The brand has become the fastest global smartphone company to ever ship 100 million smartphones. Realme achieved this feat in just 37 months. It has been said China and India are mainly responsible for this growth.  

The brand also leads the global smartphone growth board in Q2 with a year-over-year growth rate of 149%. Realme had previously set the record by becoming the fastest brand to reach 50 million cumulative smartphone shipments in India last year. The company also led the market in 5G smartphone shipments, capturing more than 22% share in Q2 2021 in India. 

The smartphone company was fast enough to capitalize during this pandemic period 2020 and 2021 and overcame the economic challenges posed by COVID-19. It resulted in the success of the brand and was able to achieve this feat.

Realme has once again added another “first” in its name. The brand was also the first to introduce the 125W UltraDart charging technology and among the first equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It was also the first brand to bring 64 MP cameras in a phone and the first company to launch a 5G phone under US$200. The tech company is now the 7th largest smartphone brand with a presence in 61 different markets worldwide.

Realme’s Statement On this Achievement

Realme’s CEO, Sky Li says,  “Young people, both our consumers and our staff, have taught us to dare to leap into the future and be trendsetters, giving us the courage to disrupt a well-entrenched industry.” “The past three years have really been about an entrepreneurial spirit and untamed growth for realme”, said Li. “Thanks to the huge support from our young users, we have been able to reach our goal of shipping 100 million smartphones and have gained significant ground in the smartphone market. We will continue to provide young consumers around the world with products that have premium performance and trend-setting designs at affordable prices.” Li also said Realme’s next goal is to achieve a dual-100 million target – shipping another 100 million handsets by the end of 2022 and completing the same milestone within the 2023 calendar year.

Mr. Madhav Sheth, the Vice President of realme and Chief Executive Officer, realme India and Europe also commented saying that “Realme always aims to become a No.1 smartphone brand with its Dare to Leap spirit. Our consumers have played an integral part in this achievement. Today, realme became the first smartphone brand to ship 100 million smartphones globally and I thank all realme fans and supporters for this. We assure you that we will always aim to provide the best to our customers.”
