DishHome fiber net

DTH/ISP Dish Home has expanded its services to all 7 provinces. The company announced the milestone feat on May 16th.

Dish Home began offering internet service in 2020. Ever since it has ruthlessly focused on expansion across the country. In just over two years, it has spread its high-speed internet service in all the major trade centers across Nepal. Recently, it also celebrated reaching 1 lakh users of its internet service. If you didn’t know, the company started its ISP service from Kathmandu in 2020.

The company was previously a DTH provider which later entered the ISP business to become competitive. Likewise, a merger with Prabhu TV also helped it keep its service momentum and grow a vital user base.

Dish Home operates its ISP business under the brand “Dish Home FiberNet”. Upon subscription, you get special discounts, the Go app, service membership, and other services.

Dish Home in 7 Provinces

Below, we have compiled the list of areas where Dish Home’s FiberNet is available.

  • Province 1 – Birtamod, Biratnagar, Itahari, Dharan, Damak, Bahundangi, etc.
  • Madesh  – Birgunj, Janakpur, Lahan, Bardibas, Sarlahi, Dhalkebar, Kaliya, etc.
  • Bagmati –  Kathmandu, Bharatpur, Hetauda, Narayangadh, Banepa, Panauti
  • Gandaki  – Pokhara, Majheripatan, Hemja, Gorkha, Gaindakot, Nawalpur
  • Lumbini – Tulsipur, Nepalgunj, Banke, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Tansen, Dang
  • Karnali –  Surkhet
  • Sudur Paschim – Mahendranagar, Attariya, and Dhangadhi

Although a recent enterprise in comparison to major ISPs, DishHome has been very competitive. The company has brought Campus WiFi in Nepal, as well as WiFi 6 routers. In addition, it also brought Shorts TV in January, bringing thousands of short movies to its customers.

As for internet packages, Dish Home offers a 600 Mbps flagship internet plan for those in need of a blisteringly fast connection. This package came in response to the speed war and make its own statement in the growingly intense ISP market.

On the contrary, there are 10/15/25/40/50/60/80/100 Mbps and 300 Mbps packages as well. You can choose from a low-end package to moderate and highs-peed depending on what your requirements are from an internet connection.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
