Shankar Lamichhane Ntc board member

Shankar Lamichhane has been elected as the employee representative on the (Nepal Telecom) Ntc board of directors. He won the election with the highest votes leaving 7 other candidates behind. The employee board member election took place on Saturday, June 09th at the company’s central office in Kathmandu.

Lamichhane won the election with a solid over 56 percent of the votes. He was a candidate from the Nepal Telecom Workers Union (NTCWU), the trade union organization within the company. However, he also received support from another union, the National Employees Organization, Nepal Telecom (NEONT). This very support from both these prominent trade unions along with his popularity helped Lamichhane battle out the competitors.

Lamichhane who won the election received 2,116 votes, more than 56 percent of the votes. He led Yadav Paneru by 848 votes who trailed second on the leaderboard. Paneru only managed to receive 1,268 votes. Meanwhile, 70 votes were rejected.

A total of 8 candidates had applied for their nominations for the post.
