Huawei Websurfer partnership

Websurfer, one of Nepal’s prominent internet service providers has started a partnership with Huawei, a leading ICT infrastructure provider for its digital transformation. The collaboration will bring Huawei’s technological leadership into the reach of Nepali internet users.

With the partnership, Huawei will be responsible for providing end-to-end network solutions and optical, intelligent technologies to Websurfer. The project will commence soon in 2022.

Both companies believe that the cooperation will significantly enhance network quality for the end users with fresh solutions. Websurfer will leverage Huawei’s continuous R&D investment for its services which eventually benefits the ISP’s growing user base.

Huawei will assist the ISP to develop its network infrastructure and architecture. The company will also provide continuous technical support and expert assistance to its partner.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
