It would not have been possible even to imagine accessing campus via smartphone on a daily basis to upload assignments and control all the other types of work even two decades ago. One of the major reasons why smartphones have recently transformed college life is the emergence of remote education and the use of video conferences. Moreover, as we live in the times of digital campus era, the use of smart phones has become essential. Still, it remains unclear as to how exactly college life has been transformed without taking a deeper look into the workflow of an average digital student!

  • Changing The Way We Approach Information.

In reality, smartphones make our research work more limited since we only approach Google and check the first page of results as we click on relevant information. Due to physical screen limitations, most smartphone users tend to use the first results and copy the quotes instead of doing proper research work. Still, if you are one of those students who take a different approach, a research writing service might be a good option that is also available via smartphones. Talking to a trained expert can help to narrow things down and enjoy the classic research methods.

  • Better Accessibility and Privacy Concerns.

Although we can easily state that smartphones have allowed students to access their LMS platforms from home or anywhere, they have also caused privacy concerns. It has paved the way for cybercrimes and cheating, making using a digital campus more challenging.

  • The Use of Automation and AI-Based Tools.

Smartphones have transformed our use of automation, and all spell-check and grammar correctors, which has made it virtually impossible for students to check the reasons why something has been corrected. The same is true for using ChatGPT and creating AI-based tables, outlines, and many other automatic tasks as students learn.

  • An Increased Use of Social Media.

Smartphones have also taken studies into the realm of Instagram and Facebook and use TikTok videos, where students follow the trends and use the information found there instead of checking the libraries. Now, if you are a blogger who wishes to take things to another level, you can see this and learn how to correct your grammar, narrow things down, and make readability much better. Even though you tend to use social media, set the trend of proper grammar and learning things differently. This way, you can use the transformations by setting a positive trend!

  • Helplessness Without Smartphones.

If we take a look at an average college student, we can see that managing even basic things without a smartphone makes a person helpless. Even finding a shop or checking the weather via websites is the first thing a person does instead of looking outside or asking a person about the best locations for this or that. Even social communication happens inside smartphones, which often affects communication and personal skills.

The Lack of Emotional Connection Problem and Smartphones

Another vital problem that must be mentioned is the presence of emotional gaps and isolation that are caused by the peculiarities of a digital campus. Since there is no physical presence of a teacher in a virtual classroom and students are limited by the use of smartphones, an isolated space is created where a learner does not really belong to the classroom. The attention span and focus become lower as there are also technical challenges of virtual education, among other things. It creates a sense of confusion and a lack of emotional attachment. While a smartphone can help students stay connected to the classroom from any location, it does not create a tactile sense and a physical connection, body language, and understanding of a teacher’s feedback right away simply by raising one’s head. As a rule, it requires attention on behalf of both students and teachers to add more life to the digital campus and boost the emotional constituents. Take one step at a time, think twice over your decisions, and analyze what can be done better, and a positive change will be made!
