Nepal’s leading internet and network service provider WorldLink has marked its 29th anniversary on Sunday, Bhadra 30, 2081 (September 15, 2024). Now, the company is entering its 30th year in active service and leads the internet market with big statistics to its name.

WorldLink provided email service when it started back in September 1995. Gradually, the company evolved catering to the growing and ever-increasing needs of Nepal’s internet customers. As a result, the company catapulted as the leading internet service provider (ISP) in Nepal.

Leading the market

In terms of customer base, WorldLink boasts an exceptional figure. The company states that it has around 9.30 lakh unique customers across Nepal which is much higher than fiber internet users of any ISPs. As much as its services are convenient, payment is also easy. WorldLink has made arrangements for easy payment via digital wallets and mobile banking apps adding more convenience and ease to the customers.

Likewise, the MyWorldLink mobile app lets users access many WorldLink services within a few taps. But there is more to the company than just providing FTTH and IPTV services. The company also provides Gamers Package and WiFi 6 router for unprecedented broadband performance.

The company provides free WiFi hotspots in 14,000 spots including hotels, airports, restaurants, sporting venues, etc. The Kathmandu-based ISP is also very active in fulfilling its Corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Going ahead, WorldLink plans to issue its Initial Public Offering (IPO) and has also shared the desire to start a telecommunication service. The company has over 5,000 employees serving directly at its various offices.

On the occasion of its 29th anniversary, Nepalitelecom.com extends its heartiest congratulations to WorldLink and wishes the company more profound achievements in the coming years.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
