The world’s leading smartphone brand Samsung has launched its latest entry-level phone in the form of Galaxy M05 in India. The budget phone features a 6.7-inch screen, and 5000mAh battery, and is powered by a Helio G85 chipset so, it could be a great pick for Nepali customers if it comes around the time of Dashain. Samsung does launch all price range phones in Nepal so, this one is also likely to see its birth here and today the post includes its major specs, features, and possible price. Let’s get going.
As we talk about Samsung, I can’t help but mention that its archrival Apple has launched the iPhone 16 series bringing premium features to its latest iPhone which competes with Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Series.
Coming to the Galaxy M05, the phone shares many similarities with the Galaxy A05. Here we break down everything you should know about this phone.
Samsung Galaxy M05 Overview
Design and Display
Starting first with its design, the Samsung Galaxy M05 comes in a large body made of glass in the front, frame, and rear made of plastic. The device weighs 195 grams. The phone looks taller than wider and carries 82.1% screen-to-body ratio and you see round edges in the corners. Samsung has given it a matte finish and the device looks good in its sole available Mint Green color, unlike the Galaxy A05 which has three color options.
Likewise, the phone sports a 6.7-inch large display with PLS LCD technology with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. I do wish that its pixel per density was higher than 262, however, that’s that. Lesser sharpness in display translates to higher battery life. Anyway, it’s a Samsung phone, and like all of its Galaxy mobile phones, it also has a good display for its price. I like to single out its large size screen being a particular draw in this department.
Camera
The phone doesn’t bring much fancy to the table with its photography. You get a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a growingly common 50 MP wide camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front, you get an 8 MP selfie camera. It’s a budget phone so, you still get a camera that gives you a large MP capacity camera to produce richly detailed photos.

Performance
The affordable lineup comes with a MediaTek Helio G85 12nm processor. It’s an entry-level processor but has two cores working at 2.0 GHz and the other six cores serving at 1.8 GHz. Likewise, the phone features 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It shouldn’t be huge for users who like to take many photos and store videos; however, Samsung gives the option to extend its storage up to 1 TB via a microSDXC card slot.
And you know what? It’s a dedicated SD card slot so you can use double SIM as well as the SD card which gives means a great convenience to many.
Another worthy feature of the phone is that it will get 4 years of security patch updates and 2 major Android upgrades by Samsung. The phone boots on One UI Core 6.0 on Android 14 via.
Battery and connectivity
Just like the Galaxy A05, the M05 also comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 25w wired fast charging. You get 4G LTE, WiFI 5, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C 2.0, etc. to connect the phone to various services wired and wireless.
