Ncell expands 4G with 20 new cell towers in just 10 days

Nepal’s leading private telco Ncell has accelerated its 4G expansion in various areas with 20 new cell towers in 10 days. The latest expansion efforts took place in several localities in Madhesh Province, Bagmati, and Koshi Provinces.

The company said that its expansion was possible with facilitation from the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA). The authority’s permission to procure telco equipment and operate improvement and expansion helped the company operate 20 new sites in record time.

According to the telco, new towers will better the network access and ensure faster 4G connectivity for users in respective regions. 4G brings high-speed data on smartphones with improved latency. But do understand that there are various factors that influence 4G speed. You must also know that Ncell provides carrier aggregated 4G that ensures high-quality high-speed data service.

20 new Ncell towers in different regions listed:

Ncell has on aired its 20 new 4G towers in different regions:

Madhesh Province (13 towers)

  • Parwanipur (Bara)
  • Pokharia, Pakahamainpur, and Birgunj (Parsa), Balan Bihul (Saptari)
  • Janakpur, Kataiya, Kamala, and Bideha (Dhanusha)
  • Kaudena and Motipur (Sarlahi)
  • Yamunamai and Madhav Narayan (Rautahat)

Koshi Province (6 towers)

  • Inaruwa, Barju, Harinagar and Gadhi (Sunsari)
  • Babiyabirta and Majhare (Morang)

Bagmati Province (1 tower)

  • Hetauda (Makawanpur)

Ncell on record speed expansion of 4G services

Ncell says that its speedy 4G expansion in various regions reflect its emphasis on promoting digital connectivity. The company’s chief consumer business officer, Upanga Dutta says that the new towers will ensure improved data and voice services. Here are the exact words from Dutta.

“We are expanding and enhancing our 4G network in line with our commitment to enhance digital connectivity across Nepal. Ncell has successfully brought 20 new towers in less than 10 days ensuring wider access to modern mobile broadband and quality voice services. I am also pleased to share that within the next two days; we plan to bring 10 more towers on air to better serve our customers. This expansion demonstrates Ncell’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its 4G network and improving access to reliable mobile services for communities nationwide.”

During the time when Ncell couldn’t bring in new telco equipment, it continued improving and expanding services by installing 40 new towers across the country. The telco says that it utilized existing and spare gears for this.

With 4G broadband, users can activate Ncell VoLTE to enjoy high-speed data and HD voice.

Ncell plans to set up over 170 new towers

Going forward, the company aims to install 170+ new base stations across all provinces in the next two months. It says that the new infrastructure will bolster its network access and Quality of Service (QoS) for customers round the country.

Ncell launched 4G in 2017 and continues to deliver world-class connectivity and a superior customer service through advanced technology. The company has expanded its services to 77 districts with 4G coverage being available to 95% of the population.

According to the latest NTA report, Ncell has over 1.16 crore 4G users in Nepal. Its latest expansion efforts with new towers will further enhance 4G experience for millions of users and also improve overall connectivity status of the country.
