The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released schedules (fixtures) for the men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament begins on February 07 across 8 venues in India and Sri Lanka for a total of 29 days. We have all the details in this post.

Groups
ICC has released the list of countries in four groups: Group A consists of the USA, arch-rivals India, Pakistan, and Namibia. Group B has the co-host, Sri Lanka, Australia, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Oman. Group C features two-time champions England, West Indies, first-timer Italy, Bangladesh, and the emerging Nepal. Likewise, Group D consists of New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, Canada, and the UAE. India is the defensive champion for this tournament.

Fixtures
The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 begins on February 7, and the final match takes place on March 8. The first day of the tournament has 3 matches, including India and Pakistan battling in their respective matches. The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 matches are played in eight different venues in India (five venues) and Sri Lanka (three venues) jointly. These venues are:
- The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad
- MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai)
- Arun Jaitley Stadium (New Delhi)
- Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai)
- Eden Gardens (Kolkata)
- R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo)
- Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (Colombo)
- Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (Kandy)
TV channels and streaming platforms
T20 World Cup 2026 will be broadcast by Star Sports, JioHotstar, Sky Sports, Sky, Ten Sports, Super Sports, Sports HD, etc.

League and knock-outs
According to ICC, 40 group matches will be played from February 7 to 2. The two sides from each group will then progress to the Super Eights stage that begins on February 21, 2026.
The top four teams from the Super Eights then reach the knockout stage. The semi-final takes place in Kolkata/Colombo and Mumbai. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the final on March 08, 2026.
Speaking on the announcement of the T20 World Cup 2026, ICC Chairman Jay Shah said: “It is wonderful to welcome the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup back to the subcontinent so soon after a groundbreaking Women’s Cricket World Cup. The passion for cricket in this region is unmatched, and fans have been waiting eagerly for another global spectacle.
“The announcement of the fixtures brings us a step closer, and I have no doubt that the five venues in India and three in Sri Lanka will be alive with energy throughout the tournament.”

Similarly, ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta added: “The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is expected to usher in a new era of global, marquee Cricketing events, both in terms of the athletic spectacle and fan experiences on offer. We have seen six different champions in less than two decades of the tournament’s history, which demonstrates the competitive nature of the competition.
“With 20 teams from 5 continents vying for the title in Cricket’s most unpredictable format and the tournament returning after a decade to its biggest market, this promises to be a feast for Cricket fans around the world.”
