Huawei Mate 80 Series Overview
Design and Display
The Mate 80 series has a flat design across its body. They carry the traditional circular camera style but with more refinements, of course. The crucial differentiation here is that the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design features an octagonal camera design. Due to its unique design on the back, the phone looks rugged and futuristic, perhaps more than any other phone in the series and beyond in the smartphone realm. We have IP68 and IP69 certification for protection from water, high temperatures, and dust.

These phones rock a 2.5D flat display. For screen size, the Mate 80 and 80 Pro sport a 6.75-inch display, while the Mate 80 Pro Max and the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design boast a 6.9-inch OLED panel. The inclusion of the unprecedented 8000 nits of brightness is such a real deal here. Bright sun? Never an issue anymore. The screens come with a 1 -120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate system, which helps save battery too.
Performance
The Huawei Mate 80 series is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 9030 series chipsets through two variants – Kirin 9030 and 9030 Pro. But the vanilla model comes with Kirin 9020. The phone is backed by an advanced heat-dissipation system that keeps the device cool and functional even if pushed for high-intensive multi-tasking and gaming.

But hey, let’s talk about the stunner. The Huawei Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design is equipped with a massive 20 GB of RAM. My moderately expensive laptop came with 8 GB of RAM. Smartphones have come a long way, haven’t they?
