Apple has shared that it has over 2.5 billion active devices in use across the world. The figures are as stunning it is, just go on to show how dominant a role it’s playing for people’s digital experience globally.

The revelation came through Apple’s latest earnings report. Not thousands and millions. It’s in the billions!

The financial result shows that the company generated a quarterly revenue of $143.8 billion, 16% up year-to-year. Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the results exceeded the company’s expectations. He said, “iPhone had its best-ever quarter driven by unprecedented demand, with all-time records across every geographic segment, and Services also achieved an all-time revenue record, up 14 percent from a year ago.” He also announced that the company now has “more than 2.5 billion active devices”. Cook declared that declares that it is a “testament to incredible customer satisfaction for the very best products and services in the world.”

Previously, Apple said that it boasts over 2.35 billion active devices. That only means that the company is continuously seeing its user base grow. Likely, the iPhone 17 series has contributed significantly to these stunning statistics. The iPhone 17 series has been the current hotcake for the US phone maker. It primarily consists of the top-end model- iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17.

iPhone 17 family helped Apple stage a mammoth 2.5 billion active device figure

Apple shared that its revenues from the iPhone business in the quarter were $85.2 billion. It’s an increase from $69.1 billion a year ago. The company didn’t mention the actual figure for which iPhone model has done the work, but mentioned that the revenue had a significant contribution from the “iPhone 17 family.”

The fact that Apple is able to sell a record number of devices despite the phone price increasing in 2026 is intriguing. Apple’s ecosystem, identity, and exclusivity continue to play well in its favor. Which is why, in the list of flagship phones, the inclusion of an iPhone is a certainty. Besides smartphones, though, Apple is also highly popular for MacBooks, iPads, AirPods, etc.

Out of 2.5 billion plus active Apple devices, do you own any model? Do share why you prefer Apple devices, and also tell us why.
