The government has appointed Reena Dongol as the new acting MD of Nepal Telecom (Ntc). As the current acting MD, Sabina Pradha,n retired from the company, Dongol will now lead the company management from today (Magh 23, 2082). The appointment comes from a Ministerial decision of PM Sushila Karki, who has taken the responsibility of MoCIT after the former communication minister Jagdish Kharel resigned.

More about the new Acting MD of Ntc, Reena Dongol
Reena Dongol is the incumbent CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of the company. She has a BE degree in Electronics and Electrical from Bangladesh University. She joined Nepal Telecom as an Engineer on Jestha 01, 2051, with a temporary appointment and then attained a permanent appointment on Jestha 09, 2052. In her tenure to date, Dongol has served in several departments, including the Wireline Department, Wireless Department, Commercial Department, and more.
Assuming office, she expressed gratitude to the Nepal Government for the appointment and took responsibility, putting in efforts for the company and the country.
Dongol to lead the company’s service expansion and the new billing system process
The company has several projects in the pipeline for the expansion of 4G, Fiber service, NT Cloud, and the much-awaited new billing system. We wish for her to lead a role in the company for such projects, quality maintenance, and introduction of 5G in her tenure.
Though Nepal Telecom 4G coverage is now available in 749 local levels, the company needs to work on a reliable 4G signal with ample data throughput. As more and more users are using 4G networks, there is a requirement for network improvement through network optimization and expansion. Here are the factors that affect 4G data speed.
Likewise, NT Fiber is gaining popularity among people with reliable internet service, which also needs expansion to more areas, though it is available in all 77 districts of the country. The student fiber offer and WiFi 6 offer are the recently launched internet offers for individuals, while XGPON (Gbps Fiber) service is there for Corporations.

Her appointment comes at a crucial time when the company is struggling with declining revenue/profit. She has equal opportunities and challenges to tackle for the betterment of the company and its services to the people. Despite the challenges, we expect her to bring positive growth in the company and play a significant role in restoring normalcy in the whole telecom industry.
