Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched 4G in Kagkot, Chharka Tangsong Rural Municipality of Dolpa district on Jestha 08, 2083. The latest expansion takes NTC 4G services to 750 local levels out of 753.
According to the company, 4G service was launched after bringing into operation a tower in Mukot, at an elevation of 4200 meters above sea level.
The company further adds that it is the first 4G site in operation in the Northern Dolpa region. Now, the company is planning on establishing 4G service in Buddha Rural Municipality and Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality in Dolpa district and Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality in Manang district. These are the only three local levels that are without NTC 4G service. This means NTC’s 4G coverage will reach completion very soon.

After 4G service availability in Kagkot in Dolpa, users will have easier access to online services. This includes browsing social media, electronic (mobile) payment, and also helps domestic and foreign tourists to share their experiences via the internet.
