Nepal Telecom (NTC) has expressed serious concern over the demolition of its office in Birgunj building located near Ghantaghar by the Road Division Office, Hetauda. The company says that the move defied the short-term interim order issued by the Honorable High Court, Janakpur, Temporary Bench, Birgunj.

On Shrawan 28, 2083, the company’s managing director Sangita Pahadi had filed a writ on behalf of the company against the Road Division Office, Hetauda, District Administration Office, Parsa, and other concerned offices. In response, the Honorable High Court Janakpur, Birgunj Bench, issued a short-term interim order on Shrawan 29, 2083, directing that the work related to the expansion of Birgunj’s main road not be carried out immediately that would affect the company’s building too.

In case no. 083–WO–0085 filed at the court, the defendants were ordered to submit a written response explaining why the requested order should not be issued against them. They were instructed to submit their written responses, along with evidence, within 15 days from the date of service of the notice, excluding the time required for the journey.
