Ncell VoLTE

Ncell has launched VoLTE service to enhance customer experience on its 4G network. The company expects the service to drive up its 4G adoption. VoLTE offers features such as superior HD voice calls instant call connection, etc. With it, voice calls can be made on the 4G network without falling back to 3G. Likewise, customers can enjoy HD calls at the normal voice tariff as well as enjoy browsing the internet simultaneously.

VoLTE stands for Voice over LTE. It is a 4G-based call feature that allows HD calls while permitting mobile data and calls simultaneously. The service was already available in the beta phase for months and is now commercially available for compatible handsets around the country.

The company says VoLTE is available wherever its 4G network has coverage. The users can enjoy HD calls on both Ncell’s 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2100 bands. Ncell operates its 4G network in all of these bands. Read more on Ncell carrier aggregation on tri bands.

VoLTE

Ncell VoLTE compatible devices

The growing number of smartphones now support Ncell VoLTE service. The telco is still coordinating with smartphone OEMs to bring compatibility to more devices. If you own an Apple device released in 2017 or use other phones that were released in the last two to three years, chances are the HD voice service is available on your device. For a quick clearance, Ncell VoLTE works in most latest iPhones and Samsung mobile phones, Xiaomi/Redmi devices, and most new smartphones.

Surely enough, more smartphones will have VoLTE capability on Ncell’s 4G SIM card. This should even come to all the 4G handsets by default soon. Here you can find some extremely relevant details: Which Phone Brands Have Band 20 4G Support and VoLTE in Nepal?

Ncell VoLTE launched for iPhone

Ncell VoLTE is compatible for iPhone. Those who have iPhone 8 series and above iPhones can now activate and enjoy the benefits of VoLTE HD calls on their iOS devices.

In fact, theoretically, anyone with a VoLTE-supporting device can use the service anywhere on Ncell’s 4G network. On prerequisites, the service requires a 4G capable SIM card. New SIM cards come with 4G network support these days so it shouldn’t be a worry. But if you own an old SIM, you need to activate 4G on it. Here, you can learn about how to activate 4G on your old Ncell SIM card.

In addition, users must ensure that their phone supports 4G connectivity or bands that support it in Nepal (for a consistent connection). Similarly, you need to have the latest software installed on the above-listed phones to get VoLTE support. Find out the steps to activate VoLTE on your Ncell SIM card.

How to activate Ncell VoLTE with the activation code in 2025?

To activate VoLTE service on Ncell:

  1. Dial Ncell VoLTE activation code *123*11# on your 4G-compatible phone.
  2. Make sure you are using a GSM Ncell 4G SIM (USIM).
  3. If your device supports Ncell VoLTE, then the service will be activated instantly. Otherwise, you will get a notification “Your handset is not eligible for this service”.

Update: Ncell VoLTE is completely free to activate. If you haven’t yet activated the service, now is the time to do that and enjoy HD voice on your phone on Ncell’s 4G network.

Simultaneous call and data

VoLTE allows users to stay on 4G and browse data even during a call. It elevates call quality with clear HD sound over LTE and is easy for call set-ups. One of its perks also includes support for video calls, however, at the moment, it will be limited to Voice over LTE only. But the company promises more innovations will be on the cards “where it makes sense for both our customers and the business.”

Ncell is the immediate competitor to NTC and adding VoLTE is another milestone in its portfolio of services. The private telecom giant boasts over 6.6 million 4G subscribers and from the network’s side, all of them should be able to enjoy the next-gen voice call service with VoLTE.

It’s 2025 and Ncell VoLTE service is more mainstream than when it first to the users. If you are still not sure about how to activate it or the process, then let us help you out. Just drop your queries in the comments below.
