Xiaomi 12S series is coming with a Leica camera lens for better photographic capabilities. The Xiaomi 12S series is the upcoming iteration of the Xiaomi 12 series from the Chinese Tech giant company. Three models are coming in; Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra. All the three models are arriving with Leica cameras as teased by the company.
Xiaomi 12S Series and Leica Camera
The company has declared all of the models to equip Leica branded cameras via a teaser image. The image shows three phones stacked with similar camera modules but different body sizes. Also, the series is going to be the first phone to debut Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

The series is coming on the 4th of July. Comprising three models, Xiaomi 12S is going to be the smallest model but would be featuring Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Also, Xiaomi 12S Pro is boasting the same chip but there is a rumor of a Dimensity 9000+ edition too. And the Xiaomi 12S Ultra edition is most likely to be the top of the line with premium specs and cameras. It is tipped to launch with Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 chip, 6.7-inch Quad HD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel, 50W wireless charging, and 120W super fast charging. It will feature a 50MP main Sony IMX 989 camera with OIS. This is a one-inch sensor, the biggest one yet on a Xiaomi phone. Also, it is rumored to feature a 48MP ultrawide camera, a 48MP 5x periscope camera, a time-of-flight sensor, and laser autofocus.
Xiaomi and Leica Partnership
Leica and Xiaomi joined hands for a partnership just a while ago. The former is a well-known name in the camera lenses world while the latter is a smartphone giant. This partnership duo now has come into play with Xiaomi 12S series. The German camera maker company is a veteran and the collab is going to uplift the camera quality.

CEO Lei Jun said: “Xiaomi focuses on creating the ultimate user experience, and has always hoped to explore the capabilities of smartphone photography to the extreme.” Also, Leica Camera AG CEO Matthias Harsch added, “exceptional image quality, classic Leica aesthetics”, and “unrestricted creativity” to the partnership.
So that was all about Xiaomi 12S Series coming with Leica cameras. Full specs are not out yet. It is scheduled to launch on July 4th. With a newer chip and improved cameras, the series could be a worthy successor to the Xiaomi 12 series.
