Nepal’s prominent Internet service providers (ISPs) recently joined a meeting in Hotel Shanker in Lazimpat, Kathmandu where they all consented to cooperate to improve Internet service and make it adhere to world standards.
The meeting organized by Internet Service Providers’ Association Nepal (ISPAN) had its chairman Sudhir Prajuli, members, and the chief executive director. It was agreed to join hands and cooperate closely to provide better internet service for the customers.
In the meeting where ISPs were invited to join to start more effective cooperation, service providers agreed to improve the service quality that corresponds with the world standards by embracing the goals of the Digital Foundation. Similarly, the meeting also decided that internet service providers will work hand in hand to make the internet service and this sector orderly, and dignified.
In addition to this, ISPAN has outlined key tasks for all to substantiate their cooperation. Service providers will be required to do all the necessary preparations, SOP creation, procedural improvements, etc. to achieve the goal.

ISPs to cooperate with government bodies for better internet service
Likewise, ISPAN has also decided to cooperate with Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) and state agencies for the same.
ISPAN is the umbrella association of internet service providers in Nepal. It’s a non-profit organization with a mission “to develop and promote internet for everyone.”
The body has remained active in matters concerning ISPs, and internet service. Lately, it remained in light of its conflict with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) over the pole rentals.
